India and Sikkim Trek
January 25, 2009
With the holidays behind me, I can finally sit down and organize my thoughts regarding our trip to India. I apologize (also to Randeep) that is has take me so long to do this and that the first attempt did not reach you. So I will try again and hope that it works this time!

It’s funny because I was just watching CNN and saw a commercial for “Incredible India” and thought to myself “wow, what a place!” as I saw the images flash by. Sometimes you wonder when you see an ad like that if it really is as beautiful as they make it out to be. We didn’t see even half of India, but what we did see left us with a lingering impression. India has definitely left its mark on us.

I think for us, India and Sikkim are two different places, as we fellt the entire time that we were not really in India, but in a different and beautiful place. So for us, it was more like “Incredible Sikkim” and I would say, “Yes! It really is incredible!”

I will try to concentrate, however, on the trek in Sikkim that you so wonderfully organized for us. All of us have been trekking many times all over the world and we found this trek to be one of the most interesting and exciting that we had ever been on and that had to do with various factors.
